Prayer Is The Key

Gen. 32:9-12 “And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the LORD which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee:
10 I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands.
11 Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children.
12 And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.”

Imagine how you would feel knowing you were about to meet someone you cheated. Jacob had cheated Esau by taking his birthright and blessings. He was a poor boy when he left home, and now he has become very rich with an enviable family.
Time has come for him to meet with Esau face to face after a long period of twenty years. Obviously he had every reason to be afraid as Esau marched towards him with a group of men numbering four hundred.

Jacob was sorely afraid.

Vs. 11 “Deliver me, I pray thee…”

Rather than continue in fear and panic, Jacob decided to pray to the God of his fathers.

Child of God, it is not out of place that you are at one time or the other faced with conflicts that are capable of making you afraid. When you are confronted with challenges that make you afraid go to God in prayer. He had said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." Trust him and he will see you through. God bless you.
